❖ TRAUMA COUNSELING
With 3 certified EMDR therapists and 4 certified EFT practitioners, the professionals at CCAW work at the root cause of presenting concern and resolve the core issues thereby providing long term relief.
Therapies used at CCAW:
1. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a WHO-approved therapy used to treat trauma and related emotional distress. It helps clients process painful memories by combining focused attention on distressing thoughts with therapist-guided bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping). This process supports the brain in reprocessing traumatic experiences and forming healthier associations, leading to emotional relief, new insights, and greater resilience.
At CCAW, EMDR is offered for children, and adolescents dealing with:
- PTSD and trauma (accidents, assault, disasters)
- Phobias and panic
- Anxiety and depression linked to psychological trauma
- Grief and loss
- Sexual abuse trauma
- Body image issues
- Personality-related difficulties.
